Thanks to our high level of specialization in sewn products, we can map out a very precise development process and thus advance your project extremely efficiently from the initial idea to the market-ready product.
We look forward to providing you with a transparent cost estimate based on the individual development phases.
1. Concept Phase
1.1 Preparation of specifications with technical requirements and target prices
1.2 Product analysis of the current market-leading competitors and overview of the current market offering
1.3 Creation of a mood board
1.4 Concept presentation and discussion
2. Design Phase
2.1 Quantitative recording of design options using hand sketches, from which a general design language for further new products can also be derived
2.2 Research and recommendation of possible materials
2.3 Concept presentation and discussion for further design iterations
3. Development Phase
3.1 Development of products and technical solutions, taking into account target price specifications
3.1.1 Creation of technical drawings and detailed representations using both 2D & 3D software (Tech Pack)
3.1.2 Building paper mock-ups to explore real-life shape, size, volume and proportions, facilitate the pattern making and enhance the sampling process
3.1.3 Determination and development of materials
3.2 Briefing the manufacturing companies
3.3 Initial consultation with the manufacturing companies
4. Sample Phase
4.1 Testing of prototypes of the respective sample phases, development and instruction of solutions for the next iteration round (sample comments)
According to our experience, a simple backpack that has been briefed with a clear target needs 3 sample rounds to be ready for SMS (Sales Men Samples). Products that require special features or follow open development targets not only require significantly more sample rounds but also include trips to the manufacturing companies to discuss the next steps face to face.
We will provide you with a detailed time plan that individually fits to your project!
5. Color Concepts
5.1 Creation of possible color concepts and, if necessary, collection strategies
5.2 Creation of colored product presentations (color blockings) and corresponding color-material sheets
5.3 Instructions for lab dips at the material suppliers and finalization of chemical finishings
5.4 Instructions for chemical testings (if applicable)
6. Finalization, achievement of market readiness
6.1 Check and final correction of the salesmen samples (SMS) in close
coordination with the client and approval of the pre-production samples (PPS)
6.2 Checking the prices (usually in USD, Incoterm FOB), if necessary on the basis of the Bill-Of-Material (BOM) -provided the manufacturing company makes this available-
6.3 Completion of product and material documentation on the basis of final PPS
6.3.1 Data transfer of the production-ready products
6.4 Creation of print data for packaging and hangtags
6.5 Create checklists and guidelines for quality checks, determine sample size using the AQL table based on ISO 2859-1
6.6 QC report evaluation and recommendation for action during production
7. Project Management
7.1 Project planning and organization: Definition of objectives, schedules and resources
7.2 Regular review of the project plan and ensuring adherence to schedules, budget and quality
7.3 Regular communication with stakeholders and project members incl. planning, preparation and implementation of appointments (update and status meetings etc.)
7.4 Planning and execution of trips to manufacturing companies
